I was 9 years old when we came from Germany to Poland in Mai 1988. We traveled as late repatriate via Italy to Germany. At this point we did not know, that the communism in Poland came close to an end. My family has lived in Bremerhaven many years until I moved to Berlin in 2007. In the beginning there surely were linguistic difficulties but I learn languages relatively easy, because children have less inhibitions.Of course I miss my Polish family as much as the Polish language, culture, food and the Polish mentality. I have studied German, Romance and Slavic Studies. I have graduated in literary studies about the literary history processing of the German Polish neighborhood. After that, I have worked as a Journalist. I would like to earn my live hood as a Journalist. I was able to achieve my professional goals partly. For a long time I was unsure where I wanted to live- in Poland or Germany. The first thing that struck me in Germany was the order and warmth. Sometimes, however, also unfounded arrogance and hubris. Typical German for me is the order, cleanliness, the diligence and the punctuality. But also a certain emotional restraint.
