Hello my name is Sharif. I was born in Rey, the ancient religious center in the south of Tehran, where history and faith shaped my life. I just finished my high school diploma at the revolution in 1979 when I was 19. Dark times are announced in the first 2 weeks, because the religious fanatics kill many people and destroy freedoms again. I was shocked! Soon I had to attend the Iran - Iraq war. After that, I became an elementary school teacher in Rey and had to promote the children’s brainwashing. Finally I left Iran and arrived in West Berlin in 1984 via Turkey. In the first days in Berlin I was very impressed by the order and organization of life here. How the cars drove in lanes without honking their horns for no reason like in Iran. How everything was lined up. How people went about their business in peace, and how well the animals lived here. The environment seemed to be designed in a symbiosis of matter and spirit. After I began to understand German, I was fascinated by the same order and logic in the way people used to speak here. A world in which one thinks rationally, explains things and is free and peacefully! After completing my asylum procedure, I moved to Hanover and studied art and design. The course opened in it. Waking up in Rey’s archaic environment had a lasting effect in this way. So I moved to Berlin in 2002 and immediately started studying the cultural history of the Orient philosophy. My thesis on the subject of Kant and Freedom brought me to an abysmal Problem in the history of Islamic thought. The neglected knowledge of reason and the perception of the infinity of nature, which leads to the discovery of the sciences, arts and spiritual liberation of people, so that history, spirit, God and faith can be better understood. I try to address this deficiency aesthetically in textile design and critically in painting. I design oriental style silks scarves and paint children, so I can share my own memories with them. With this I also want to point out the critical situation of the children who, instead of preparing for the realiation of their dreams, have to work in Opium fields, in brick factories or as porters.
