Hello, my name is Noor, and I came to Germany in 2015 all by myself when I was fifteen years old. Private reasons and the war drove me the decision to depart from my family in Afghanistan and embark on the long journey to Germany. My parents were afraid for me and didn't want to let me go.
The journey took me initially to Pakistan and from there to Iran, partly alone, sometimes in groups, with and without a smuggler.

I often felt afraid here, we had little to no water and constantly had to hide from the Iranian military, who harass attack us time after time.
We somehow made it to Turkey and from there to Greece via boat. The fear of a sinking in this boat was always on our mind. We continued our journey on foot after that, along the Balkan route. Eventually I arrived in Munich by train.
I have never been more scared than during my escape. The trafficers were paid by my uncle by the way. However, if I had known in advance what awaited me upon my escape, I might not have set out.
From Munich, I came to Berlin to a hostel for unaccompanied minors. I immediately started learning German. I read a lot about German history, but also German novels.
I am very interested in football and technology and finished fourth in the billiard group championship.

My asylum procedure went smoothly and lasted only 20 days. After a six-month German course I joined a welcome class. Meanwhile I passed the final exam after the 9th regular class. I'd like to enter a training program to become a nurse and am currently looking for an apartment.
Sometimes I worry about my parents; my sister in particular, who is still attending school, and my brother, who is studying law. I feel very lonely from time to time, yet I am glad that I took it all on myself. I am grateful for being here and getting the chance to learn something.
So far I haven't had any bad experiences and people are pretty kind here in Berlin.
I consider friendliness and punctuality to be very positive. However, keeping dogs in the house is quite negative, as well as the huge amount of dogs in general, occupying the whole city.
